If you fell here by accident and have no idea what you're looking at, this page is dedicated to Starscream, my favorite character from the Transformers franchise. More specifically, my favorite Starcream version, the one from the Generation 1 Transformers cartoon from 1984.

Starscream is the cunning Air Commander of the Decepticons, Megatron's right arm. Always second place to his overlord, Starscream's biggest ambition is to take over as the leader of the Decepticon cause (and he's not afraid to make that abundantly clear). That of course earns him plenty of enemies among the Decepticon ranks no matter which show or movie he's in.

He'll lie, cheat, disrespect authority, disobey orders, anything to weasel his way to the top. He'll spit in his leader's face and beg for his life on his knees seconds after. Starscream is impulsive, greedy, arrogant, and yet so competent that Megatron couldn't get rid of him even if he tried — which he did, in several different occasions, all with no success.

aaaand i love him because he's so so interesting. he's failed so many times, and yet he still blindly trusts himself in a way that is almost naive. At the same time that he's competent and he knows it, he's still so eager to prove himself to others, like his overinflated ego is only his last resort in a world where every bot puts him down and brushes him off. I suppose i see myself in him to a certain extent.
