HELLBOY is a series of comics by Mike Mignolla that follows the titular character.
There are three feature films, one game and several volumes of comics following his life in different stages.

Hellboy is brought to earth by a group of Nazis trying to bring about the apocalypse, but he turns out ot have a very pure heart. He is found by Professor Bruttenholm and raised by him. In time he joins Prof. Broom's Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense, where he works with Abe Sapien and Liz Sherman to take down paranormal and mythical threats such as werewolves, vampires, ghosts and such.
